Questions? We have answers!

1What is a mobile vet practice?
We make house calls! Through our custom built, state-of-the-art mobile vet clinic, we provide personalized small animal medicine and surgery to your home.
2Can you do everything that can be done at a traditional style veterinary clinic?
Our vehicle is fully equipped, think of it as a facility on wheels. We have all the same capabilities as a regular hospital. We have a refrigerator for our vaccines and items that must be kept cold. We have a full pharmacy and stock a select supply of our preferred heartworm and flea & tick products.

We use IDEXX and have access to blood, urine, skin, fecal, or other specimen samples with results within 24-hours.

We can take digital x-rays, perform ultrasounds and have anesthesia for surgical and dental procedures.

See our services page for more details.

If your pet needs 24/7 intensive care or hospitalization, we make arrangements that may include a recommendation to transfer your pet to a 24-hour facility.
3Why should I choose a mobile vet clinic?
Mobile veterinary care offers several advantages, including:

  • Great for pets who struggle with travel, get motion sickness, or experience stress in transportation to the veterinarian.
  • Eliminates your pet's exposure to sick animals in a waiting room.
  • Creates a calmer environment for those pets who may become stressed or fearful around other animals.
  • More personalized care through longer appointment times and no feeling of being rushed.
  • Wait for the veterinarian in the comfort of your own home.
  • Easier for owners with multiple pets.
  • A more private, peaceful, and comforting environment if your pet must be euthanized.
  • More convenient for people with busy schedules.
4What are your fees?
We offer competitive pricing, comparable with other area vet practices. The only difference between our charges and those of a regular veterinary clinic is our fee to come to your location. This is called a “House Call” fee.

Fees are primarily based on the distance from our home location in Woodstock. There will be an additional mileage fee assessed beyond this radius which covers increased drive time and fuel costs.

There is only one house call charge per visit, regardless of the number of pets we treat.
5How do I contact Dr. Gwenn or make an appointment?
We are available by appointment only on Monday through Thursday from 9 AM - 6 PM. However, these hours may vary based on client demand and travel conditions.

To schedule an appointment please call/text us at 860-428-4271 or send us an email to [email protected]. For routine matters, please leave a message as it likely means we are visiting with another client. Please note, it could take Dr. Gwenn 24-48 hours to respond.

Unlike a traditional veterinary clinic, we do NOT have a full-time reception staff. Phone calls will be answered - in the order of importance - by Dr. Gwenn or her technician. Please be patient.
6What forms of payment do you accept?
Payment in full is expected at the time of service. In our mobile clinic, we are equipped to accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express, cash, checks and Care Credit.
7What areas do you service?
Based out of northeastern Connecticut, we routinely service a 10 to 15-mile radius from the town of Woodstock.
8How do I prepare for your visit?
In order to accommodate our veterinary equipment and supplies, our mobile clinic is 26-feet long and 12-feet high. If there are obstacles such as branches, wires, or a tight driveway, please let us know in advance and advise use where we should park our vehicle upon arrival.

Also, please have your pets ready for the visit prior to arrival - cats in carriers, dogs on a leash, etc. - so appointment time isn't spent trying to catch your animals.
9Are you the same as the low-cost spay/neuter and vaccine vans?
No. We are a full service mobile veterinary clinic. We do provide individual surgical services, including spays and neuters, to our clients. However, we are not affiliated with any low cost spay/neuter/vaccine vans.
10Do you offer grooming services?
No.
