A Letter from Dr. Gwenn...

August 31, 2023

Dear Valued Clients,

I hope everyone had a wonderful summer. As we start to settle into fall, I have some updates as to the future direction of Dr. Gwenn Mobile Vet.  As you know, we opened a “brick and mortar” clinic in Woodstock in August of 2021, Peake Brook Veterinary Center, at 168 Route 171 in Woodstock. The clinic is thriving and growing quite rapidly. We currently have two full-time veterinarians, a part-time veterinarian and a part-time exotics veterinarian. Visit our website, PeakeBrookVeterinaryCenter.com to see what the clinic has to offer and to read up on our staff.

I have been doing my best to split my time between both clinics. I find myself working nearly 7 days a week and spreading myself very thin. Unfortunately, the pace I have set for myself is not sustainable. I have made the very difficult decision to narrow down the service area of the mobile unit, allowing myself to see more patients locally and spend less time traveling. I am going to focus my time on the truck in the Woodstock, Eastford, Chaplin, Pomfret, Putnam and Thompson areas. I am going to discontinue service to Canterbury, Coventry, Hampton, Scotland, Storrs, Mansfield, Willimantic, Willington and Windham areas. This change will take effect November 1st, 2023. I see patients on the truck on Mondays and Tuesdays and will try to address what needs to be addressed for as many patients as possible until then.

Dr. Gwenn Mobile Vet and Peake Brook Veterinary Center are linked clinics that share records and everyone that I see now is welcome to bring their pets to Peake Brook. I cannot guarantee you will be able to see me each time you need an appointment at the clinic, but one of my colleagues will be happy to assist you. If you prefer to have me see your pet, you can certainly request that when you contact the clinic to make appointments. The clinic can be reached at 860-315-5955.

I fully understand that traveling 30-45 minutes to Peake Brook is not an easy task for everyone. In the event you prefer to switch to a closer practice than ours in Woodstock, please let us know and we will forward your records to the veterinary clinic of your choosing. To request your pet’s records be sent to you or another clinic, please email [email protected] and supply us with the email address you would like the records sent to.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Sincerely,
Gwenn Gaumond, DVM MS
